Davis, "John Churchill, the progenitor of the Churchill family, who appeared in Plymouth in 1643, settled at Hobbshole." The Canadian descendants of John began with Lemuel (fourth generation), who migrated from Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia in 1763.
Van Every - McGregory Van Every was the founder of the Van Every family in Canada. A loyalist, McGregory fought with the British in New York and received land in Ontario after the war. Much of the old family is very well documented, referencing The Records of The Van Every Family: United Empire Loyalists, by Mary Blackadar Piersol. Galbraith - Like many Galbraiths, this family hails from Argyll, Scotland. They came to Durham, Canada, in mid-1800s.
